Korean Adoptees Respond to FRONTLINE Documentary: GUIDELINES for Submissions.

In the wake of the recent FRONTLINE / AP documentary, “South Korea’s Adoption Reckoning”, there has been a tremendous outpouring of feeling and thoughts from the Korean Adoptee community worldwide.

We invite Korean Adoptees from around the world to write an essay concerning an important topic regarding Korean Adoption which we will publish here on Paperslip.

All published essays will be ANONYMOUS. We will NOT publish your name with your essay.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION:

Deadline: October 10th, 2024.

Whom Can Submit: Any Korean Adoptees adopted to any country may submit their essay (English language only).

How Many Times To Email Us:
ONCE. Please send us your FINAL ESSAY by October 10th, 2024. Please DO NOT email us repeatedly with updates to your essay. Once you submit your essay to us and it is published to Paperslip, we will NOT edit it with updates. So please be sure that what you send to us is your FINAL version of your essay.

Topics: Please write about a topic you consider important regarding Korean Adoption, in response to viewing the FRONTLINE documentary “
South Korea’s Adoption Reckoning”.

Title: Please TITLE your article.

Acceptance: We will only publish essays which are thoughtful and well-written. We will not publish everything which is submitted, only those essays which make a clear point and which are easy to read in English. Essays which use expletives, extended all CAPS wording, etc. will not be accepted. However if your article is clear, well written in English, and has a clear point, you can assume that we will publish your essay. We do reserve the right to publish the articles which we select.

Length: Your essay can be no longer than one page single spaced. Please make your point very SUCCINCTLY and CLEARLY.

Editing: We maintain the right to edit your essay for spelling and punctuation errors - however, we will not intentionally change the meaning of your text.

Authorship: All essays will be published ANONYMOUSLY.
